Life has a funny way of surprising us when we least expect it. One minute, we’re simply stopping by our local pub for a casual visit, and the next, we’re heading home with two tiny bundles of fur nestled in our arms. Who knew that a quick cuddle with two kittens found in the pub loft without mum, would lead us here—to late-night bottle feeds and full-on kitten parenthood?
These little ones are about 3-4 weeks old, meaning they’re still very much babies and entirely dependent on us. Bottle feeding is a must every 4-5 hours, around the clock, to keep them healthy and growing. So yes, we’ve officially signed up for those nighttime wake-ups, every bit as essential as they are for human newborns.
The first night was smoother than we anticipated. Both kittens took to the bottle right away, which was a huge relief. They’re already proving to be champs, and it feels good knowing they’re getting the nourishment they need. Currently, the black kitten weighs 321g, and the multi colour kitten tips the scale at 354g. Tracking their weight is essential at this stage—it helps us know they’re on the right path.
It’s early days yet, and we’re adjusting to this unexpected adventure of kitten care. There’s something truly special about being a part of their first steps in life, watching them discover their surroundings, and knowing we’re helping them grow stronger each day.
