Who doesn't love a snow day?

There’s something magical about waking up to a world transformed by snow. This morning, I opened my eyes to see the ground blanketed in white—pristine, quiet, and perfect. It’s the kind of sight that makes you pause for a moment, appreciating nature’s beauty.

Like any responsible adult, I started my day as usual: showering and getting ready for work. But as I sipped my coffee, a little ping changed everything. A text message: “School’s closed.” And just like that, my inner child came alive. Was it the thrill of the snow or the unexpected day off work? Honestly, I couldn’t tell you. What I do know is that I was grinning from ear to ear, feeling the kind of excitement I hadn’t felt since I was a kid.

With the gift of a free day, there was only one thing to do: take the boys outside and dive into the winter wonderland. We bundled up in layers, hats, and scarves, then ventured out to build the most spectacular snowman we could muster. Frosty had a crooked smile, twigs for arms, and a carrot nose—a masterpiece of teamwork and imagination.

After the snowman was complete, we took a little walk, enjoying the crisp air and the crunch of snow underfoot. But it wasn’t long before cold feet and icy fingers reminded us we were human after all. Back inside, we warmed up with steaming mugs of hot chocolate and a blanket snuggled on the sofa.

It wasn’t just a snow day; it was a day of pure, unfiltered joy. A reminder to slow down, savor the small moments, and embrace the unexpected surprises that come our way. Because really, who doesn’t love a snow day?
